Utilizing a mix of classroom discussion, practical application exercises and small scale field training exercises students will become highly proficient in the characterization, prioritization and sampling of small scale chemical and biological laboratories; to include the technical and tactical aspects of responses involving the use of CB Weapons. Utilizing a hands-on approach, students will practice using their sampling and analytical equipment on progressively more complex problems. From laboratory processes to device interrogation, practical exercises will include the analysis of intelligence, mission planning and execution. Exercises are designed to emphasize the prioritization of samples, as well as chain-of-custody and proper crime scene preservation considerations. Following the completion of each training evolution, an after action review discussing lesson learned will be conducted.
The course presents an all-inclusive approach to equipment employment and sample site selection in varying hazardous environments. By stressing proper planning and correct tactical equipment employment based on the circumstances on the ground, the course emphasizes to the team how to analyze and interpret intelligence, employ and operate their equipment, and select and analyze samples in order to best accomplish their mission.
This course includes discussion on the FBI 12 Step Process and CST Survey Team organic Commercial Off the Shelf equipment operation and employment.
This course is intended for CST Survey section members, though it is available to all CST personnel, as well as other military, government, and civilian organizations.
